🍑 "We know!" Wednesday

Oh and introducing Ripe by Pchy our free weekly newsletter

Introducing Ripe and “We Know!” Wednesdays

We are doing this whole growing in public thing. As a freshly baked company, we want to reveal the ingredients that go into building an app founded by women with a focus on solving a major problem. How do we help women to feel safer? How do we help to keep each other safe? How do we make information specific to safety more accessible?

Ripe is our revamped weekly newsletter by Pchy! 🍑

Ripe is like a juicy sweet peach with a pit inside. But from that pit grows life and a deep knowledge of the world. Then blossoms and of course, fruit.

You can expect Ripe to hit your inbox every Wednesday and Friday and sometimes Sunday for book club members.

Pchy is working with a fabulous local marketing team of exceptional women that is helping us to hone our brand identity. Words that honestly feel a little uncomfortable to say. “Brand identity.” But you need to know who we are for us to be trusted. We must know who we are to provide that trust.

Maker + Made is local to Spokane, WA. Go check them out!

Thanks for being patient and supportive as we stretch our little branches towards the sun. Please reach out by replying to this email to give feedback, tell us what you like and don’t like, or just say hi.

“We Know!” Wednesday

“We know!”

women all over the world

We’re pretty fed up with your typical dude giving women advice on what they should or shouldn’t do.

We know what is best for our bodies. We know what is best for ourselves. We know it’s unsafe just being a woman in the world. We know there are glaring inequalities for women, femmes, and non-binary people. We. Know.

The kind of content you’ll find here on Wednesday is like this story about a “Girls club” founded by men in NYC. ⬇️

The “Girls Club” being built by male founders in NYC and what women have to say about it.

Let’s just say the comments and posts on LinkedIn from women and men on this topic are juicy.

This is one of our favorite comments on a post by Lucy Wark, co-founder of Fuzzy and founder of Normal.

With the massive success of stadium tours by Taylor Swift and Beyonce as well as the box office madness for Barbie, corporations and startups alike are seeing the impact women have when they decide where they want to put their money.

Kiki, a Blackbird-backed venture subletting startup business once valued at $42 million has decided to pivot, according to the Financial Review, and will develop a “Girls only club” in NYC to “Help Manhattan women thrive and not just live.”

Can we just lol at that last line for a moment while collectively sighing and rolling our eyes?

Btw a “Kiki” is a term that refers to a social gathering that originated in ballroom culture and was later popularized by the LGBTQ + community.

This one is a doozy but if you want to get into it go read the comments on Reddit here.

Speaking of Reddit, we tend to find Reddit to be a more trusted site than most. Maybe it’s the anonymity or the community moderators and clear guidelines? Reddit can also be an unhinged, silly space.
